Created as a final project on the book binding course at Leeds College of Technology, the book "Holes" is a visual rebellion against the strictures of 'correct' book binding techniques.
Outside the book is traditional and neatly bound.
Inside it is destroyed by various methods; tearing, burning, cutting, piercing, eating, sandpapering and punching.
The appendix makes references to several artists of the 1950's and 1960's who employed methods of destruction in their work.
These artists who's work I admire have been identified in relation to their influence on specific pages of the book.
